What if calories were never the whole story?
Dear Women…
For years, we've been told that losing weight is simply about eating less and moving more. It sounds so obvious that most of us never stop to question it. But what if there's another conversation worth having?
One that's less about calories and more about understanding what your body is doing with the food you eat. Every time we eat, our food is broken down into glucose, which enters our bloodstream. In response, our body releases insulin, a hormone whose job is to move that glucose into our cells to be used as energy.
It's an incredible system.
The challenge is that when blood sugar stays elevated throughout the day, insulin has to keep working. Over time, that can make it more difficult for our bodies to access the energy we've already stored.
That's why I've become far more interested in supporting healthy blood sugar than simply counting calories.
Understanding how the body works changes the conversation entirely.
With love,
